Imagine learning to play the violin, but you have to play each song with earplugs in, then listen to the recording after. This is roughly what chess learning feels like, outside of focused drills. You play a game, ignorant of which moves are good and bad, then you get feedback from the computer at the end of the game - way past the point where you made the move. I don't think this is compatible with how humans learn, generally. | |
