| | I've been listening on and off to the BBC Sounds investigation of Kate Clanchy's cancellation a few years ago. Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, but it's much more nuanced piece of reporting than it's being portrayed on social media. Two episodes in, it's clear (to me, at least) that there are some very valid and quite serious criticisms of her work being made, and that she didn't help the situation by not really engaging with them.

| | In a country in which greed rules, is pedophilia the line that cannot be crossed? (Probably not) We all know the real problem in our country is that greed for wealth and power, an idol, drives us to not accept constraints on anything, but most of us in the United States are conditioned to not address, let alone recognize, the problem. Heck, we allow people elected to Congress to get wealthy by trading stocks no matter the clear conflicts of interest and likely insider trading that sends the likes of Martha Stewart to jail.
