The deployment of this website is no exception: it is built using the Hugo static site generator and hosted on GitHub Pages; so wouldn't it be nice if the rendered website would automatically be published whenever an update is pushed to its source code repository? | |

| | | | | So, it was time for a bit of change for the blog. I have been using an older version of Jekyll for some time and upgrading for me has always been a pain. I picked to move away from Jekyll to something new, this is where Hugo comes into play. Hugo Hugo is another static site generator like Jekyll but written in Go, it boasts itself as the fastest tool of its kind but it wasn't the speed that drew me to it. | |

Before we begin, here is a little history of my blog: Version 1 - Blogger Version 1 ran on Blogger - which was essentially a static site generation platform. It gave you an editor, you would write your posts and then it would generate your complete site in HTML and even allowed you to publish it on your own server by uploading the result via FTP. | |
