| | What is xdotool? This tool lets you simulate keyboard input and mouse activity, move and resize windows, etc. It does this using X11's XTEST extension and other Xlib functions. Additionally, you can search for windows and move, resize, hide, and modify window properties like the title. If your window manager supports it, you can use xdotool to switch desktops, move windows between desktops, and change the number of desktops. Mailing List The xdotool users mailing list is: xdotool-users@googlegroups.

| | This is an ongoing experiment. One day I've decided to stop using the default XFCE's window manager xfwm4 and start using Mutter instead, which is the one shipped with GNOME. Switching is easier than expected, but at the end there are a few usability issues, some of which are quickly solvable but others are trickier.

| | I plan to write about themes from time to time so I thought it would be a good idea to start with an article explaining how to change the theme, so it's clear for everyone. I'll start with GNOME, and maybe expand this later on.

| Raspberry Pis are great little computers. Wonderful for running hobby services. But, whenever I start a new RPi project, I dislike needing to dig out my spare HDMI monitor and USB keyboard. I don't like having to take up room, connect all that hardware, just to enable SSH and Wifi so I don't need any of that equipment I just finished setting up.
