| | | | The release of Python APT 0.7.92 is the first (pre-)release to introduce the new C++ bindings to create Python objects for almost every C++ object in the apt-pkg and apt-inst libraries. It is also the first version of python-apt which correctly deallocates its objects. It also introduces classes in apt_inst which are modelled after the 'tarfile' module in Python. The new progress classes behave more like the ones in apt, which allows you to write even more perfect apt-get clones (if you want to). There are also several new classes and functions. | |

| | | | I've posted the scripts used to generate the anti-aliased text used in the User Interface. The first is a Photoshop script,CreateFontData.jsx. This makes a set of PNG files, one for each character. The second isConvertText.py, a Python script that takes the output of CreateFontData and generates C code for display the characters on the Epson LCD used in the project. Note these scripts have some hard-coded pathnames in them (to the development folder) but this is pretty easy to find and modify. | |

| | Having neglected my personal blog for almost 2 years and my personal website for closer to 4 years, I've made the decision to switch technology in the hope of revitalising my online presence. The original and now defunct site was built in 2009 on a combination of PHP-based homebrew with hand-cranked XHTML and CSS. The blog that went with it was based on Wordpress with a custom theme tweaked to match the rest of the site design. |
