Eventually the rain cleared away this week so that we could go on a bluebell walk. Although there are bluebells in our lanes and on the hill, I wanted to visit a different location. One which is not too far away and which takes me on another of my favourite roads here in the west... |

It's that time of year again when I take stock of the garden over the past 12 months, reviewing the successes and the failures. In complete contrast to last year this one has been one of the wettest and coldest which had a big impact on the growth and flowering times of lots of plants.... |

Last week the crocuses, among my pretty marbled Cyclamen hederifolium leaves, were nothing more than spiky leaves poking up through the ground. By mid-week the yellow crocuses were in flower.
