| Writing any kind of review for the original Friday the 13th movie seems somewhat redundant, as it has been analysed and written about numerous times before. If you're interested in the film's production as well as its subsequent impact on US cinema at the time, then there is an excellent summary on Wikipedia. Having recently rewatched the entire franchise, courtesy of the Shout Factory's Friday the 13th Collection Deluxe Edition, I have a few thoughts I'd like to share. The picture quality of all the films is very good, offering a lot more visual information compared to previous releases. The amount of "extras" included in the box set is prodigious. I suspect that these are the best versions that we're ever likely to see. Fans hoping that one day all the cut...
