| | For now, at least, I'm using hand planes to shape the spars. Pretty much every how-to video you'll see on spars shows the use of a power plane (perhaps after a band saw has roughed out the shape.) Well, I don't have a power plane (although one could be had at the tool library), but I also rather like the notion of shaping these pieces by hand. Hand planes are quiet. |
