Not everything in an enterprise is a hierarchy, we need to start thinking in graphs. We seem to like to create order, whether that is through organisational structures of teams, org charts, business capabilities, or classes in code. Where there is a true hierarchy this is generally not a problem, but because we have created these structures it is our nature to then try to classify everything into them. |
