If you've used any iPhone or Mac computer, you'll first notice the scroll bar isn't there. The scroll bar is seemly erased from existence until you start moving down a webpage. Only then does it magically appear. Apple has gone to extraordinary lengths to kill or at least hide the scroll bar as best they can. You'll notice the pattern appearing in both in iPhone and their computers. By default, the scroll bar is invisible unless you're scrolling. Some people like this feature as it gives the maximum amount of screen real estate for reading. This might be true on small screens like the iPhone but that argument falls completely flat on most large screen devices.
