| | | | Sponge cloths, used for bathroom cleaning, make an interesting folding material. When wet, they are soft and foldable. When dried, they become stiff and keep their shape well. This allows them to be used for origami wet-folding. You have to take into account that the sponge cloth is quite thick, so only rather simple models can be folded: the model I chose for my test was my Hedgehog. I have also been able to fold a traditional crane from a ca 20x20 cm sheet, so this should give an estimate of the level of complexity you can achieve. | |
